Mayor and Board Of Aldermen

The City of Wright City is classed as a Fourth-Class City and uses the Mayor and Board of Aldermen form of government. As set forth under the Statutes of the State of Missouri. The Board of Aldermen is comprised of four members, two from each of the two ward. Board members serve staggered two-year terms and are responsible for determining policy, enacting ordinances and authoring expenditures.

 The Mayor is elected for a two-year term. The responsibilities of the Mayor include serving as the chief executive officer of the City, attending and presiding over Board of Aldermen meetings, veto powers over legislation and appointing members of various Boards and Commissions.

The Board generally meets the second and fourth Thursday of every month at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall (636 Westwoods Road.). Please view the Calendar of Events for a listing of the Board of Aldermen and other meeting dates.

Public Works Department

The Public Works Department consists of 5 employees who are responsible for maintaining streets, to include snow plowing, asphalt and concrete maintenance, street sign installation and repair.
